Atop the Khao Wang hill you can find a royal palace called Phra Nakhon Khiri along with several wats (temples). The palace and hill is the site of the Phra Nakhon Khiri Fair, an 8-day annual festival held in February.
Also visit the Wat Maha Samanaram with its beautiful murals and the Ordination Hall, which is a small symmetrical building with stucco at the gables.
The Kaeng Krachan National Park is the largest national park in Thailand and occupies nearly 3000 sq km. The Wat Khao Takhrao houses the image of a sitting Buddha nearly 8-m tall, while the Phra Sutthasela Chedi is built using beautiful greenish grey marble
Relax at the Kaeng Kracha Dam with its stunning view of the reservoir and islands, or head over to beaches like Hat Chao Samran which was known as a royal relaxing area for the ruling family. Also sample exotic Thai delicacies made using ancient recipes at the ‘Luk Jiab’ shop.
