The calm aquamarine waters and the stunning sandy beaches with large limestone rocks jutting out of the ocean make Phi Phi a picturesque holiday destination. Phi Phi Don, the permanently inhabited island of the group, offers tourists all the required facilities, including lovely sea-facing accommodations.
The beaches of Phi Phi Leh, a short boat ride away, are more popular. This island’s Maya Bay beach was used in the making of the 2000 movie ‘The Beach’. You can also visit Viking Cave, famed for its bird’s nest soup industry and prehistoric artwork, or relax at the sea lake set in the midst of spectacular cliffs.
The adventurous guests can opt for some excellent diving from the (mostly limestone rock) islands of Bida Nok and Nai, which also boast beautiful underwater scenery. The beaches of Bamboo and Yung Islands are perfect for swimming. Don’t forget to take a short hike up to Ton Sai village for striking views of the islands.
