Al-Hosn Palace is the oldest building in Abu Dhabi. It was built in 1793 as the residence of a ruling family of Dubai at that time. Moreover, this historic building is commonly called as Old Fort or the White Fort. The interior of the building has been modernized and at present is used by the city cultural foundation as the center for documentation and research. The center has a collection of many documents on the heritage and on the history of Dubai and the Gulf.
