The Dubai Museum is the main museum in Dubai. It is located in the Al Fahidi Fort which was built in 1787 and this museum is considered as the oldest building in Dubai. This museum was opened by the ruler of Dubai in 1971. The aim was to present the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai. The collections of the museum include the local antiquities and artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai.
