This region was initially under several kingdoms like those of Alexander the Great, Parthian, Sassasanid etc. It was finally undertaken by the Russian empire in the nineteenth century. Eventually, Uzbekistan became independent on 31 August 1991 though it still faces a lot of interference from the neighbouring area. The country is now suffering from an economy that has been declining leading to poverty and increasing rates of crime.
Uzbekistan’s culture is a very bright, unique and interesting one. A wide variety of costume, traditional art, music and dance and much more forms an integral part of its day-to-day life. Traditional forms of music include lapar, ulan, yalla and makoms etc. Handicrafts include items made of silk, ceramics, wood carving, metal engravings and so forth.
Uzbekistan is a country in Central-Asia and it lies between the rivers Amu Darya and Syr Darya. Its topography is diverse comprising mountainous regions, valleys, lowlands, large highly fertile farmlands, arid regions and so forth. Thus, this country offers quite a lot to its travellers. Adelunga Toghi is the highest point in the country.
