Many historic buildings are not open to non-Muslims, and visitors should always
ask permission before entering them.
However, it is possible to visit the 16th century Kukeldash Madrassa,
which is currently being restored as a museum and the Kaffali-Shash
Mausoleum.
Very interesting is the Architectural complex Zengi-Ata in
Zengi-Ata settlement near Tashkent.
Between the city museums of Uzbek and pre-Uzbek culture, you can’t miss
the State Art Museum, which displays a collection of paintings,
ceramics and the Bukharian royal robes.
The Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, exhibits embroidered
wall hangings and reproduction antique jewellery
You can also find some beautiful mosques, as the Mosque Zengi-Ata
and the Mosque Jami.
Other good points of interest are the Zangiota mausoleum, the
Anbar-bibi mausoleum, the Yunus-khan mausoleum
and the unique Barak-khan madrassah.
