Ha Long Bay is situated in Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam. It is bounded by China on the north, by the Gulf of Tonkin on the southeast and south and by Cat Ba Island on the southwest and south. The Bay is spread over almost 1553 square Kms and comprises of 1969 islets. The coastline is 120 Kms in length.
The Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
One experiences cold and dry winters, whereas summers are hot and moist. The temperature ranges from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
In this Bay, about 1600 inhabitants reside in four fishing villages called as Cong Tau, Ba Hang, Cua Van and Vong Vieng.
