The alluring surroundings comprise miles and miles of mountains which seem to tell a tale about the historic city. The mountains were terraced during the ancient times.
The Shihara Bridge is a historic landmark of the city, which joins two villages, Shihara Al-Qaish and Shihara Al-Amir. The beautiful structural design was constructed in the seventeenth century. It also hosts a market every Sunday and is a major tourist attraction.
Visitors can also tour the nearby cities of Sanaa and Marib, the former being a World Heritage Site. The Al Jamia Al Kabeer Mosque, the Yemen Gate and the Sacred Bilquis Temple are some sites of interest there.
