In Yemen, lunch is the most important meal of the day. Shurba and kebabs are widely found, but salta, stew based on meat, is the national dish of the country. Yemeni honey is added to most dishes before serving. There is a tradition of chewing ‘qat leaves’ (an intoxicating herb) after meals in the country.
With strict restrictions on alcoholic drinks, tea, coffee, juices and other soft drinks forms the list of commonly available drinks in Yemen.
