Tourist Guide Hadhramout
Hadhramout, better known as Hadhramaut or Hadramawt can be referred to as one of the historical regions of southern part of ‘Arabian Peninsula’ along ‘Gulf of Aden’ within the ‘Arabian Sea’. Likewise, it goes on to extend towards the east from Yemen to Dhofar area (Oman).
At present, name of the above-mentioned area is being retained in petite ‘Hadhramaut Governorate’ of ‘Republic of Yemen’. People who have been staying over here are called ‘Hadheramis’.
From a narrower perspective, It can be said that Hadhramout is linked with Kathiri and Qu’aiti sultanates, that were ‘British protectorates’ within ‘Aden Protectorate’ overseen by British residents staying at Aden till their abolition after South Yemen’s independence in the year 1967.
Current governorate roughly incorporates these 2 sultanates’ former territories. It comprises of an arid and a narrow coastal plain bordered by a wide plateau’s steep escarpment.
Climate is very dry. So, it’s better to visit it during the winter season.
