The single biggest attraction is the Nelson Dockyard which is the world’s only Georgian dockyard. The dockyard is situated in the Nelson’s Dockyard National Park.
English Harbour is also a prime destination for people seeking to traverse the Caribbean by yacht and offers repair and berthing facilities for yachts of all sizes.
Another significant monument is Clarence House, which was the residence of King William IV when he served under Admiral Horatio Nelson.
Other places of interest in English Harbour include Shirley Heights, the Lookout Trail and Dow’s Hill Interpretation Centre.
Sometime between the months of April and May, the Sailing Week is held. This annual event started back in 1961 as a race between Guadeloupe and Antigua. This regatta is now a major event featuring many other attractions such as beach parties and contests in addition to sailing competitions.
