St John’s is the capital of the twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. It is located on the island of Antigua and is also the commercial centre and main port of the island.
The climate in this island paradise is typically tropical with lots of sun and a cool tropical breeze that blows throughout the day. Between the months of February and May there is also a lot of rainfall.
St John’s has been the administrative center of this nation since 1632 and was declared the national capital in 1981. The city itself has a population of about 25,000 people and consists mainly of the descendants of the African slaves and some British, Portuguese, Lebanese and Syrian nationalities as well.
Christianity is the predominant religion that is practiced by the locals and English is the official language.
