The Bahamas, in general, poses no particular health threats to travellers. No special immunizations or vaccinations are required to visit the Bahamas. However, chances of suffering from diarrhoea are likely. If diagnosed with digestive problems, drinking clean, bottled water helps.

The Bahamas has an excellent network of hospitals, doctors, surgeons and other medical services. Health facilities are available throughout. While vacationing in the Bahamas, there is a constant risk of overexposure to the sun. Make sure to take necessary precautions by carrying adequate amounts of sun block products. Also, make sure to buy travel medical insurance before travelling to the Bahamas.

The crime rate is increasing in the Bahamas, especially in the downtown region of Nassau. Sexual assaults, theft and pick-pocketing are common in the Bahamas. It is always advisable to travel in groups after dark especially in isolated areas.
