Although almost all the tourists arrive in Nassau through Lynden Pindling International Airport, the Paradise Island Airport is operational as a small-jet port since 1989.
It mainly serves small commuter-airlines but has plans for expansion to handle larger planes as well. It can be reached in five-minutes from Atlantis
In 1967, the island was linked with Nassau through Paradise Island Bridge and a small airport was built at the eastern side of the island.
Resorts International built a large hotel complex to accommodate package tourists and now with a second bridge operational, the airport has become quite busy with private jet-planes and other smaller charter service planes.
Many hotels are located near the airport and they provide transport services to the airport, albeit with a small fee.
