International Airport

Nassau International Airport has been renamed to Lynden Pindling International Airport since July, 2006 in honour of Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling, who was the 1st Prime-minister of the Bahamas.
It is situated on the west side of the New Providence Island and features a small but busy facility. Both domestic and international airlines use the airport and it is also a main hub for the local Bahamasir Airlines. British Airways, Delta and Continental Airlines are other major airlines operating from here.
More than half of the flights are to and from the US and it remains the biggest and busiest airport in the Bahamas.
The facilities within the airport are fairly basic with a single café, a Royal Bank of Canada counter and a number of shops, which include a duty-free outlet.
Tourist information booths are located in both domestic and international terminals. Since the airport does not have any business or conference facilities available, business travellers need to use those provided at the nearby hotels.
