The parish of Christ Church is located on the southern part of the island nation of Barbados.
The land in this area is mostly flat and gently undulates towards the coast. The coastal waters are ringed with beautiful coral reefs. The temperature is tropical and moderate with some rainfall from the month of May onwards.
The parish has a population of about 48,000, most of which is concentrated around the major towns of Oistins and Hastings.
The population comprises mostly the descendants of the African slaves who were brought here by the British. The culture is a vibrant mix of the Caribbean lifestyle with significant English influences.
