Vaccination is not an absolute requirement while visiting Barbados. However, yellow fever and Hepatitis A vaccinations are recommended for young children. Carrying adequate amounts of mosquito repellent is also recommended. 

Barbados has a good system of hospitals, doctors and other medical facilities. However, medical care can prove to be very expensive in Barbados. Highly serious cases are usually transferred to the United States. Make sure to obtain travel medical insurance before visiting Barbados.

There are no particular areas of instability or terrorist activity in Barbados. Barbados is usually considered a safe place to visit. However, robbery and certain drug related crime exist in certain areas. There has also been an increase in sexual assaults and attacks against visitors. Tourists are always advised to be alert and vigilant at all times.
