The parish of St Peter is located in the northern part of the country of Barbados and is named after the patron saint, Saint Peter.
St Peter has the unique distinction of having a coastline on both the eastern and the western side. The land consists of many rolling hills and plateaus that undulate gently towards the coast on either side. The coastline is dotted with long, white, pristine beaches. The climate is sunny and tropical with a cool breeze from the coast that makes it ideal for tourists.
St Peter has a population of about 10,000 people, most of who have descended from the African slaves brought by the British settlers in the seventeenth century.
The culture and traditions of this place have been very heavily influenced by British culture and is a vibrant mix of Caribbean and English influences.
