Holetown offers excellent facilities for water sports such as scuba-diving, paragliding, snorkelling and jet-skiing. Chattel House Village and Walkers World offer splendid shopping opportunities, with some great bargains. There is also the Reef Interpretation Centre and Museum of Marine Life, which merit a visit.
The city hosts the colourful Holetown Festival every year in February. The opening ceremony traditionally takes place at the Holetown Monument. The week-long festival highlights the Barbadian arts, traditions and culture and the events include historical lectures, exhibitions, concerts as well as sporting events.
The city abounds in high quality restaurants serving up a dazzling array of cuisines, ranging from fast food, Italian and Chinese to the traditional Bajan cuisine. There are also numerous beach-side bars, serving rum, a favourite with the locals.
