Tourist Guide Heredia
The province of Heredia is located in the north-central part of the country of Costa Rica. It covers an area of approximately 2,700 square kilometres.
Heredia is one of the most beautiful provinces in Costa Rica. It is a mountainous region with hills, valleys, waterfalls, rivers and dense tropical forests. The climate is cool and equable and the temperatures are more or less constant at a pleasant 25° C.
Heredia has population of about 355,000 people. The largest ethnic group consists of the descendants of the Spaniards and those of mixed Mestizo heritage. Other ethnic groups include the descendants of the Italians, Germans, English, Dutch, French, Portuguese, Polish, Chinese and the Afro-Costa Ricans.
The culture is a vibrant mix of the traditions of the many different ethnic groups that live here.
