Located in the Central Pacific Conservation Area at a distance of 15 miles from Jaco is the Carara National Park. The park is bestowed with dense tress which provides a haven for the bird species. The park provides protection the basin of the River Tarcoles and is home to the largest population of wild Scarlet Macaw in Costa Rica. The park provides destination for bird watchers.
