Tourist Guide Camagüey

Camaguey is located in the central Cuba and is the third largest city in Cuba. It is also the capital of the provinces of Camaguey. The city spans over an area of 1,106 square kilometer.

The total population of the city is 324,924. In 1528 the city was moved inland following continuous attacks by Pirates on the original city. The new city has a confusing layout so as to defend it from the raiders. The old town of Camaguey in 2002 was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old town was smashed in the September 2008 by the Hurricane Ike which hit the coastal areas of Cuba.

The climate of Camaguey is hot but pleasant breeze is always present in the city.  The evenings and night are usually comfortable and cool. The temperature varies between 23 degree centigrade and 28 degree centigrade. The place is a perfect retreat and one can find everglades and mangroves, Sun bleached sand, flamingos and roseate spoonbills and turquoise waters here.
