Liberation Day is celebrated in the first week of January which is followed by Labour Day in May. July sees the Celebration of the National Rebellion while the Day of Cuban Culture is observed on 10 October.

The Jornadas de la Cultura Camagneyana which is celebrated in February is followed by the Havana International Jazz Festival and the Havana Carnival. The Semana de la Cultura and the Electro acoustic Music Festival are celebrated in April. Santiago de Cuba celebrates Carnival which marks the end of the sugar festival, in July. The 10-day Havana Festival of Contemporary Music is held in October.
