Medical facilities and services are mediocre in Cuba and several medicines are unavailable. So make sure to carry all the required medications and an extra copy of the prescription. It is also advisable to obtain travel health insurance before visiting Cuba.
In recent years, Cuba has witnessed an increasing crime rate. Theft, pick-pocketing, bag-grabbing are common in major tourist locations and on buses and trains. Jewellery, gadgets and other valuables should not be kept in suitcases.
