Las Tunas, capital of the province with the same name, is located in Cuba. Situated to the east of Havana, Las tunas provides an excellent opportunity for visitors to witness and experience Cuba. The city has a population of approximately 100,000 inhabitants.
Las Tunas is characterised by a mild tropical climate. It stays pleasantly warm and sunny almost all round the year and is a good place to escape from the cold winters
The Las Tunas province was established in 1978, when it was separated from the Oriente Region by the Cuban government. Las Tunas, a tiny market town until then, underwent major development.
The economy of the region is sustained primarily through sugarcane crops and livestock. The city houses no particular works of art and history as they were all destroyed by the rebel forces in 1895.
