The province of Villa Clara, in the north of Cuba, is located in Central America. Santa Clara is the capital of the province and is situated to the east of Havana. Villa Clara with a population of around 817,000 inhabitants is bestowed with natural and varied topography.
Villa Clara has a warm tropical climate throughout the year. The climate is constantly moderated by the trade winds; the best time to visit the city is from November to April.
Villa Clara serves as a memorial to Che Guevara and his comrades in the Bolivian guerrilla army. The region is one of the most important locations in the history of the Cuban Revolution.
Founded by residents of a coastal village, Villa Clara is known for its production of sugar, coffee and tobacco. Tourism is an upcoming industry.
