Calibishie is one of the most beautiful and scenic areas of Dominica with pristine beaches, secluded fresh water pools, waterfalls, and lush rain forests with exotic flora and fauna.
There are a number of activities for the adventurous soul such as hiking into the rainforests, mountain biking, snorkelling and scuba diving.
The small coastal villages in the area are also very popular with the tourists because of the friendly and welcoming nature of the villagers. Here, there are little sea-side cottages that allow tourists to experience the simple pleasures of village life.
The Dominica Carnival is a month-long annual celebration with colourful parades, exciting contests and activities. The carnival is usually held near the month of February and many tourists flock to see this vibrant celebration of colours.
