Tourist Guide Calibishie

The town of Calibishie is located on the north coast of the island nation of Dominica. The surrounding coastal area is called the Calibishie Coast and is a major tourist destination.

Calibishie Coast has a very diverse topography over a small area. It consists of majestic mountains, lush green forests and white sandy beaches. The climate is tropical and the temperature remains in the mid-twenties throughout the year; this region also experiences a lot of rainfall.

Mostly descendents from the African slaves that were brought here by colonial planters in the eighteenth century, a majority of the population resides in the town of Calibishie with the rest living in the many coastal villages that surround it. The population is about 1,500 people.
