The economy of Dominica is dependent mainly on agriculture and the tourism industry. Items of export include banana, tobacco, vegetables, coconut oil and so forth. Its economy is marked by low rates of employment and GDP and high rates of poverty. The average daily expense for a tourist will be anywhere between 300 XCD and 1000 XCD depending on where one stays and eats. It is best to hire a car for exploring the island.
