The city of Roseau is the capital of the island nation of Dominica and is located on the west coast of the country.
The topography of the area is varied with majestic mountains meeting flat coastal areas, stunning waterfalls and lush forests. The climate is tropical and the temperature hovers around the mid-twenties. The area also experiences a lot of rainfall.
The population of Roseau is about 15,000 people. Most of the people are descendants of African slaves that were brought here by colonial planters. There is also a small population of Caribs.
The culture is a vibrant mix of different traditions and is greatly influenced by British, French, Creole, Carib and African cultures.
