Tourist Guide Bayahibe:

Bayahibe is located east of Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. The town of Bayahibe is basically a fishing village surrounded by vacation resorts. The topography of the area is unique with sandy beaches and lush green hills.

The climate is tropical; the average temperature remains at around 20° C throughout the year. With a population of around 3,000, most of the residents are of mixed European, African and Taino ancestry. A small part of the population is also of Spanish descent.

The culture is a vibrant mix of the Hispanic, African and Taino. The main languages that are spoken in the region are Spanish, English, French, German and Italian

Former fishermen village turned into tourism destination. A handful of large hotels anchor the area in nearby Dominicus but Bayahibe retains most of its flavor as a small beach town. Closest location to go on boat tour to Saona island with an incredible beach. Also known for cave and open water diving with some historical wrecks.
Not to be missed:
swimming in the fresh water caves
,
the old church
,
any of the back country safari tours
