Alcazar de Colon is a mansion and the residence of the Columbus family in Santo Domingo. Built by the son of Christoper Columbus in 1515, the mansion is presently a museum which is furnished with original and period furniture. This place is one of the best attractions of San Domingo. Also known as the Alcazar de Colon or Columbus Alcazar, it is considered as the oldest viceregal residence in America. The architecture combines influences from Italian and Spanish Renaissance.

Alcazar de Colon is also known as Columbus Alcazar and is known to be one of the oldest viceregal residences in America. Situated in Santo Domingo in Dominican Republic, this historic building is a part of the Colonial Zone of the World Heritage Site in Santo Domingo. Once here, one can get to see a museum having collections and exhibits of European period in late medieval times. This is a worth visiting museum apart from being a historic place.
