The Colonial Zone is called as Zona colonial in Spanish language and is the oldest city in the Americas which is situated in Santo Domingo. In 1990, this neighborhood was added on the World Heritage List. This place is also known as Ciudad Colonial and its origin dates back to the 1500s. There are many historical sites which were built during exploration, exploitation and colonization times of the New World. This city is a beautiful blend of the past and present sites mixing to make a travelers experience wonderful. Museums, historic sites and restaurants are worth visiting.
