Cathedral San Salvador
The Cathedral San Salvador is the principal church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Salvador. Twice visited by Pope John Paul II in 1983 and in 1996, this historic building is the place where the old temple of Santo Domingo once stood. This site was rebuilt many times, the recent being in 1999. It houses the tomb of the Cardinal Romero which draws pilgrims from around the world.
