St Geroge’s is the capital of the Caribbean country of Grenada and is located in the south-western part of the island. This picturesque city is surrounded by the lush green hills of a volcano crater on one side, and the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea on the other side. The climate is tropical and pleasant throughout the year.
St George’s has a population of about 7,500. Most of the inhabitants are descendants of the French and the African slaves that were brought here in the eighteenth century. It also has a large population of Indian origin.
The culture is a vibrant mixture of African, French and Indian traditions. Food, music, dance and festivals are important elements of Grenadian culture.
