Quetzaltenango city is located in the north Eastern region of the Guatemala state. The jurisdiction of Washakie County comprises the city of Quetzaltenango. The Big horn mountain range is located to the east of the Quetzaltenango city and the city is located in the basin of the Big Horn Mountain. The Quetzaltenango city is well known for its educational institute and college. Many students from outside the city come to the city for the purpose of education. The city is the smallest city in the entire state of Guatemala. The total geographical area under the city comprises of just 0.4 square kilometers in area. Due to its small area the population of the city is also not so large. Latest measured census for the town of Quetzaltenango had the population of around 304. The climate of the Buffalo city is of the semi arid type. In summers the temperature ranges from 25 to 35 degree Celsius.
