San Pedro Carcha is located in the county of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala in America. The population here is high and was measured to be 245,000 according to the 2000 census. The city is often referred to as the child of water because it is surrounded by sea on all sides. It is also a neighbor to the booming city of Santa Cruz Verapaz. The name "Carcha" is often called as 'Charcha' or 'Cara' by different people here. The city was initially founded by the Munis of Spain who emerged in Guatemala. The city is situated on the eastern border of Guatemala and is bordered by six towns. The average temperature in San Pedro Carcha ranges around 20 degrees throughout the year. The city also fares moderate breezes in the months of January and February. The population has tremendously shown a fair increase every year. The town has a total area of about 100.0 square kilometers, out of which 89.3 square miles is land and the remaining 10.7 square miles is under water. Agriculture is an important occupation that is carried out here along with fishing.
