The party never ends at La Ceiba. This vibrant city has much to offer visitors with activities such as swimming, sun bathing, mountain-trekking, river-rafting and hiking. Many clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants with vibrant music and friendly local people keep the city alive through the night.
La Ceiba is also called the ‘Capital of Ecotourism’ due to the number of natural parks and reserves in the area. The most famous of these is the Pico Bonito National Park which is a beautiful tropical rain forest with magnificent waterfalls and spectacular landscapes. Other popular reserves include the Rio Cangrejal and the Salado Wildlife Refuge.
La Ceiba is famous for the Feria Isidra which takes place every year in the month of May. This amazing festival culminates with the Gran Carnaval de la Amistad, a magnificent celebration with colourful floats, vibrant music and dance.
