Tourist Guide Alley
Alley is a small town in the Parish of Clarendon in Jamaica. It is located on the banks of the Rio Minho. The town is situated right in the heart of the sugar producing belt of Clarendon, close to the neighbouring Moneymusk Sugar Estate.
The town, like the Parish, experiences tropical climate for most of the year.
Alley is a very small town and is sparsely populated. The Parish of Clarendon though is very populated, having approximately 215,500 inhabitants.
Being an important sugar village since the seventeenth century, the economy of the town almost entirely depends on the nearby sugar estates. The area is particularly fertile due to the many tributaries the Rio Minho and the Milk River. The Alley was the capital of the former Parish of Vere.
