This fort was built in 1761 and stands on the peninsula overlooking the bay. An impressive structure called as The Barracks made out of Georgian bricks is built near this fort in 1843. This was built to provide shelter for the soldiers who lived here. This structure was converted into an educational centre in the early 1900s and later transformed as a part of the Rusea High School complex. In 1982, the school was amalgamated with a higher secondary school.
