This is one of the oldest churches in the state of Jamaica, almost 275 years old. The 1st baptism took place in this church in 1725, the 1st burial in 1727 and the 1st marriage in 1749. During the war a tunnel was built from this church to the nearby Fort Charlotte for the safety of the soldiers. The church has been declared as a national monument by the National Heritage Trust of Jamaica. The altar has a stained glass window portraying the ascension of Jesus Christ and is beautifully decorated with a crystal vase and candleholders.
