The Blue Lagoon is one of the most beautiful sites in Port Antonio; it is deep blue in colour largely due to its depth (almost 200 feet). The Caves of Nonsuch found along a plantation called Seven Hills of Athenry are home to a variety of sea creatures like sponges and clams. The Crystal Springs Resort has a botanical garden, a bird sanctuary and other recreational facilities.
Several of the grand buildings from the colonial times have remained; the Christ Church, courthouse and the railway station are some of them. Boston Beach is the most popular beach in town as it is accessible for swimming, surfing and other water sports.
A cruise on a bamboo raft along the Rio Grande is a different way to take in the surrounding scenery. Just off the coast of Port Antonio, the Navy Island is an ideal one day excursion; a range of water sports facilities are available here.
