Tourist Guide Portmore
The coastal city of Portmore is located in the south east coast of the Jamaican Island in Saint Catherine. There are nearly 170,000 people residing in this locality. The city is erected on a plane, opposite to the Kingston Harbor with a complex system of canals which protects the region from floods. Portmore was approved as a municipality a few years back. The locality has its own City council and Mayor established on the basis of British models like every other government of Jamaica. The communities of Portmore include Old Portmore, Braeton, Great Portmore and Hillshire. The locality is not a popular tourist destination for the visitors of Jamaica. However, the Coastal City of Portmore offers sun beaches, hotels, restaurants and other places for eating, relaxing and amusement. The Portmore Toll Road is one of the major roadways in Portmore that connects the city with the Spanish Town and Kingston through Hunts Bay Bridge.
