Granada is one of the few places where you can explore the city on beautiful horse drawn carriages. There are many beaches around the Lake Nicaragua where visitors can enjoy activities such as sun bathing, swimming, fishing, snorkelling and diving.
The city has many old houses and buildings that were built during the colonial times and bear testimony to the rich history of the place.
A visit to the city is incomplete without a trip to Lake Nicaragua, the only fresh water lake in the world that is home to sharks. The clear waters around the lake and lush green forests around its banks are home to number of exotic fauna such as bull sharks, sawfish, birds, monkeys, iguanas, sloth and guatizas.
During Easter Week, the city is filled with a carnival like atmosphere.
