Tourist Guide Ometepe
Ometepe is an island made from two volcanoes in Nicaragua. The term Ometepe traces its origin to Nahuatl terms ‘Ome and Tepetl’, which means two mountains. Ometepe is situated in the archaeological area of Greater Nicoya that covers the Rivas area and goes down into Costa Rican Nicoya Peninsula. As a volcano Island, Ometepe is home to around thirty seven thousand people. Inhabitants earn their income through fishing and agricultural production. The fertile soil of the area facilitates to make high quality products. For a number of years the Island was considered as a paradisiacal destination. Natives of Ometepe are very friendly and fond of their territory. The island offers delicious food, luxurious lodging and other prominent services to draw the attention of tourists. The island is now renowned as one of the best tourist destination appreciated by foreign and local tourists for site’s placidity, hospitality, picturesque areas and relaxing beaches.
