Tourist Guide San Juan de Nicaragua

San Juan de Nicaragua, also called San Juan del Norte or Grey Town, is a little port village counting about 1500 people, located on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, on the San Juan River.

Apart from the enchanting atmosphere of the town and friendliness of its people, you may admire the few remains of the ancient port of the once called "Grey town", now hidden in the jungle, just outised the town. Here you will see some concrete foundations of colonial houses and the ruins of four cemeteries.

On the Río Indio you can visit some remote communities spending their lives in close contact with nature.
