Villa Sandino, the municipality of Nicaragua belongs to the Chontales department. The city covers an area of seven hundred and ninety seven square kilometers and as of 1995 the city bears a population of fourteen thousand seven hundred and forty three. Before its formation the city was called as Villa Hermosa. Villa Sandino traces its origin to the ancient village of Pueblo Viejo. The current name of the city was named after the national hero Augusto C. Sandino. The city has a humid tropical savanna climate which brings wet and rainy days enduring 8-10 months and dry days from February to April. Villa Sandino is a beautiful and picturesque city having a number of cultural myths and festivities. The mind-blowing beauty of nature draws the attention of tourists who are fond of exploring the natural beauty. The city has a number of beliefs and related festivities which people celebrate with pleasure and delight.
