Panama’s economy is dependent primarily on the service sector with banking, commerce and tourism being its major components. A significant amount is generated from the Panama Canal as well. The average daily expense for a tourist to Panama will be anywhere between $300 and $2500; food is very cheap and an average meal will cost around $8 to $25. Using taxis for travelling around the city is a good option as these are convenient and inexpensive.
