El Morro or the Fort San Felipe del Morro is a 16th century citadel which is situated in San Juan in Puerto Rico. This historic site was designated in 1983 as a World heritage site. It is believed that it was built by the Spanish in 1539. This is the best known fortress in Puerto Rico. Morro means promontory, to keep the seaborne enemies out of San Jose. At present, this port welcomes all for a historic tour.
