No specific vaccinations are required while travelling to Trinidad and Tobago, but immunizing against hepatitis A, yellow fever, and typhoid is recommended. Make sure to carry adequate amounts of insect repellent as dengue fever is prevalent in certain areas of Trinidad and Tobago.

Hospitals, doctors and other medical facilities are quite limited. Proof of ability to pay is a mandatory requirement before treatment is given and obtaining travel medical insurance before travelling is strongly recommended.

Trinidad and Tobago is quite a safe place for visit. However, the crime rate is increasing at an alarming rate. Money, gadgets, jewellery and all valuables must be kept in a hotel locker. Visitors staying in private villas should take extra care and hire security personnel. Travelling in groups and avoiding isolated areas is recommended.
